11th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting

December 7, 2024 – 2PM – 6PM

The NDD kicks off the holiday season downtown by putting up a 40-foot holiday tree in the center of Downtown Newark, bringing holiday cheer and an extra special glow to the community. The NDD then transform the city by installing beautiful LED snowflakes on the light poles to sparkle throughout the district. As the sun sets, the city is lit up with glittering lights creating a festive atmosphere that turns the Downtown into a magical winter wonderland. 

The NDD’s Annual Holiday Tree Lighting is always a fun-filled family event. Normally, the event takes place downtown with a visit from Santa, a live DJ, carnival games, a trackless train for children to take a ride on, and local food vendors selling treats and warm hot chocolate. The NDD’s Annual Holiday Tree Lighting is always a special event, for both adults and children to enjoy.
