Dying While Pregnant: The Crisis of Black Maternal Health

March 24 | 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm EDT

Black women feel the pain of increased maternal mortality in the United States. The rates of severe pregnancy-related complications and death are highest for these individuals.

In honor of Women’s History Month, Standing in Solidarity is spotlighting medical disparities that impact Black women’s care. Our conversation will also offer opportunities for advocacy and suggest cures for a broken system.

This event is produced by Women@NJPAC, a powerhouse community of women committed to supporting the Arts Center’s social impact work.

Our panel conversation is preceded by a PSEG Social Impact film screening. Birthing Justice is a documentary that shadows several women through pregnancy and delivery, revealing their challenges and celebrating their positive outcomes.
